Reading Comprehension Practice Test 2025

The reading comprehension test evaluates your reading and comprehension skills, as its name suggests. Each of the four reading sections that make up the test is followed by a set of multiple-choice questions that are pertinent to what you just read. You have 30 minutes to respond to thirty-two questions that assess your comprehension and retention of the material. The amount of time you spend studying and the quality of your preparation are both important factors in determining how well you perform on the day of the CAST exam. It's wise to assess your progress toward learning along the route. Taking CAST practice tests to evaluate your progress is one of the best ways to accomplish this. The benefit of practice exams is that they highlight your areas of improvement. Pay close attention to these three sets of questions each time you take a free CAST exam practice test, particularly in the Reading Comprehension domain:
  • The questions that you answered incorrectly
  • Those you had to guess on, even if you guessed correctly
  • The ones you took a long time or found challenging to complete
This will pinpoint your areas of weakness and the areas that require extra study time. Why did you find it difficult to answer each of these questions? Next, as you go back over the content, delve more into those questions and determine how you might improve your areas of weakness.
