Free GRE Verbal Practice Test Questions 2025
Questions are divided into three categories in each
GRE Verbal practice test: Text Completion, Sentence Equivalency, and Reading Comprehension.
There are questions on text completion at the beginning of this verbal portion, followed by a block of reading comprehension questions, a block of sentence equivalency questions, and a second block of reading comprehension questions.
The reading comprehension passages will range in length from one to multiple paragraphs and cover a broad range of subjects, both academic and non-academic. Most of the passages will be little more than one paragraph, with perhaps one or two being longer than that. You may be required to accomplish tasks ranging from deducing missing information to interpreting language found in the text.
The text completion and sentence equivalency questions assess your ability to fill in the blanks in a text to make sense as a whole, in addition to your understanding of fancy vocabulary terms. Remember that phrases, not just one vocabulary word, will be used to fill up some blanks.
Given the variety of
GRE practice question styles and types available, it's a good idea to practice answering each kind of question as much as you can to avoid making careless mistakes on test day, such as choosing one answer when you need to choose two.
