About The CDL In Iowa

A commercial driver's license (CDL) is a professional license that enables its bearer to operate buses and big commercial vehicles on Iowa and US roads. A CDL verifies your ability to drive big commercial trucks safely by demonstrating your completion of training and testing.  Driving a commercial vehicle in Iowa necessitates the acquisition of a CDL. Although CDL classes might differ from state to state, Iowa has the following classifications for commercial vehicles that require a CDL in order to operate:
  • Class A: A licensee with a Class A license is allowed to drive automobiles over 26,001 pounds and tow trailers or other automobiles over 10,000 pounds.
  • Class B: Drivers in Class B are permitted to drive automobiles that weigh more than 26,001 pounds and pull trailers or smaller cars.
  • Class C: Drivers with a Class C license are allowed to drive vehicles that have a maximum capacity of 16 passengers or carry hazardous items.
If you are seeking a learning source to practice this driving test, Our Easy Prep Practice Test offers a user-friendly platform including a plethora of practice questions and mock tests that you can take at no cost. Let’s take advantage of it to get the desired driving license.

What Our Iowa CDL Practice Test Includes

Let’s take an overview of our practice examination.  Overall, when it comes to the homepage of our website, what catches your eyes, at first sight, are two main sections: “Practice Iowa CDL Test By Topics” and “Take Full Iowa CDL Practice Test”. To meet the learners’ needs, the former functions as learning materials that are categorized into different topics or domains covering nearly Iowa's CDL knowledge for practice. The latter mimics the real exam to check learners’ outcomes and create a chance for a mock test before taking the real one.

Practice Iowa CDL Test By Topics

Iowa CDL practice test is separated into 9 primary sections, labeled below:
  • Air brakes: You will need to pass an air brakes test if you are applying for a CDL that requires an air brake endorsement. The test will evaluate your knowledge of air brakes, as well as other car systems and components.
  • Combination Vehicles: This combination endorsement covers both hazardous materials and tankers. There are no spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors in the original text.
  • Doubles/Triples Trailers: You must successfully complete a doubles and triples test in order to drive a vehicle with multiple trailers (doubles or triples) attached.
  • General Knowledge: Although it's not an official endorsement, passing the first test is essential to get your CDL. The test includes questions on traffic laws, road signs, safe driving techniques, vehicle equipment, and other relevant topics.
  • HazMat: This exam covers all the information you need to drive a car that may contain hazardous materials, such as radioactive materials, explosives, or poisonous liquids or materials.
  • Passenger Vehicles: Operating a vehicle with 16 or more seats, including the driver, requires the P endorsement.
  • Pre-trip Inspection: This practice test makes sure you have a comprehensive understanding of all the major systems and parts that need to be inspected before starting your journey.
  • School Bus: Transport pupils in a full-sized school bus with this endorsement. A P endorsement needs to be obtained before an S endorsement can be obtained.
  • Tanker Vehicles: With this endorsement, drivers can operate a tank vehicle—a vehicle that transports large quantities of liquids or gasses.
Each domain includes a combination of practice questions. The series of questions are divided into 7 levels and 2 tests, divided into 2 stages. Stage 1 includes the first 3 levels and a mini-test. Stage 2 includes 4 remaining levels and a final test. Each level includes 10 multiple-choice questions. The mini-test comprises 30 questions covering knowledge of the whole first stage. The final test comprises 70 questions covering knowledge of the whole topic.  Remember! Our results recording system will notify you of the results you have achieved after your first attempt, for example, 6/10. However, you must answer all questions correctly to be allowed to move to the next level. Hence, you are allowed to do it again more than once and the false questions will automatically return until you correct all of them. Of course, if you are confident in any topic, you can skip levels and move to the mini-test or the final test immediately.  An extremely appreciated feature of our website is that after each question in the practice section, learners will immediately know whether their results are correct or incorrect. Furthermore, there will be an extremely detailed explanation for the question, which is right below the question section.

After completing all the questions and receiving the final results, test takers will have the opportunity to review all the questions to see which ones they got right and which ones they got wrong. Detailed explanations for the answers are also attached right below each question. This helps test takers review knowledge more deeply and gain experience for the next test, especially in the real exam. For convenience of use, we also released a mobile version of the application. Operations in the phone application remain the same as on the website. The only difference is that after completing the questions, you must click “Submit” to receive the final results of the test. Practicing before taking any exam is extremely necessary. Finding a reputable and effective learning source is even more important. Each choice you make can determine success or failure. Trust me!
