HSPT Reading Practice Test Questions 2025

The Verbal Skills portion assesses a student's ability to answer questions about verbal analogies, synonyms, logic, verbal classification, and antonyms. The purpose of verbal analogies is to assess a student's understanding of the relationship between two words (e.g., tree is to limb as person is to arm—whole to part). The Synonym and Antonym questions assess the student's vocabulary knowledge, including the meanings of the response choices. Students must choose which of one or four answer options does not belong with the rest in verbal categories. Students must decide if the third assertion in a logic inquiry is true, false, or unsure depending on the veracity of the first two statements. Getting ready for the HSPT entails learning the test structure, rehearsing sample questions, and strengthening your weakest areas.
